Unfortunately, there is not much evidence of the renaturation at the marked point other than the signs that have been put up.

The first renaturation section is located between the Gleibach estuary in the Lahn near Gießen and the A 480 motorway. Among other things, the stream bed was relocated and flood channels were created. In the years following the renaturation, the area was not used or maintained, so it became increasingly overgrown with bushes and the waters were increasingly shaded. At the end of 2007, the local council decided to have the area permanently fenced in to allow grazing. The fence was completed in the summer of 2008 and the first grazing took place in August 2008. Since then, the six cattle have done a great job and have "tied up" a lot.
