On April 21, 1863, the insurgents were defeated in a clash with the tsarist troops.
In the Ormanicha clearing in 1863, Major Hipolit Zawadzki formed an insurgent unit of 400 people. However, the insurgents were betrayed by two inhabitants of Lipa.
    – Two attacks were directed at Zawadzki's insurgent unit under the command of Captain Obukhov and General Ksawery Czengery, which crushed the insurgents.
Some of the insurgents who survived the Russian attack were hanged on the "Death Oak", also called "Hanged Man" by the locals.
