Khone Biodiversity House

Khone is a small settlement close by but somewhat hidden in a beautiful valley in Upper Khevsureti. Easily accessible near from the end-point of the well-known hiking from Tusheti across Adzunta Pass to Mutso, a trail leads to Khone. The newly built Biodiversity House in Khone is a perfect spot to get some rest after the long hike from Tusheti, spend another night under the stars and get some background information on the beautiful plants and animals in the Caucasus. Built and run by the Pshav-Khevsureti Friends Association (Facebook: @pafa2016), the Biodiversity House is a new highlight for visitors, hikers and scientists alike, a place to stay, meet up and plan excursions from.Enjoy the high mountains around Khone, go for a walk in the upcoming (summer 2019) botanical garden with high-mountain plants (alpinum), chat with other guests, the friendly hosts or even have a look over the shoulders of visiting scientists studying the alpine ecosystems nearby. The round-trip trail into the mountains above Khone is also recommended for visitors deciding to spend one more summer day in the beautiful surroundings around Khone.
