At 229 metres above sea level, Varden is the highest point on Håøya and rewards hikers with sweeping views across the Oslofjord. A stone cairn built in the 19th century marks the summit, while nearby remains of First World War gun emplacements reflect the island's strategic role in defending the fjord.
