Unfortunately, the village church in Hamdorf does not have a name of its own.
But the church in Hamdorf is also sufficient because everyone knows which one is meant anyway.
The parish of Hamdorf consists of the parishes of Breiholz, Elsdorf-Westermühlen, Hamdorf, Hörsten and Prinzenmoor.
In 1875 the parish of Hohn was divided into two parishes, north and south. A short time later, the parish of Hamdorf emerged from the southern parish. The church was completed and consecrated in 1876/77. In 1967 a chapel was built in Breiholz, today's Kreuzkirche.
