Originally, the Moosegger Aschte was a simple alpine hut or "Schwaighütte" (swallow hut), used by the Moosegger farm of the same name for summer livestock farming. The term "Aschte" comes from the Zillertal dialect and refers to a smaller, usually not permanently inhabited alpine pasture.
The hut symbolizes the centuries-old tradition of alpine farming in Tyrol – simple, functional, and closely connected to nature. Today, it is a silent witness to past mountain farming culture and a tranquil place amidst a stunning landscape.
