A legend tells that a giant once lived in the Kienitz Mountains and watched the church being built from there. He was so angry that he took a boulder and hurled it at the church tower. The stone missed its target and landed in the churchyard. The giant's fingerprints can still be seen on this stone today. It was later inserted into the churchyard wall as a memorial.
