    Here in Buchenrod on
Schernecker Strasse, in front of house number 5, stands this magnificent well house, a half-timbered structure with a tent roof, from the middle of the 18th century.

A half-timbered structure with a roof was built over the well. Beautifully decorated, the building testifies to the appreciation of the local wells at that time. In earlier times, covered wells were usually open.

The sandstone trough in front of it indicates that cattle were also watered here in the past.
