A detour to the wave pool is worthwhile, of course.
We were there last night for the Easter bonfire there.
Only the route you have suggested is a pure car route.
You drive from Ergste through the fields over the Radbrücke over the Ruhr and drive on the Ruhrtalradweg to the wave pool, of course in the direction of Winterberg.
For those who are not knowledgeable, only this beautiful bike path and not the road.
