De Hoop flour mill was built in 1837. The mill is a round stone belt mill at Ruiterspoor 8 in Den Hout. The mill was built in 1837, to the dismay of the millers at three mills in Oosterhout, who saw their income decrease with the arrival of a fourth mill.During the Second World War, De Hoop was severely damaged, and in the following years an electric mill replaced the mill. The mill mountain was partly excavated. In 1975 the mill was sold to the municipality of Oosterhout, which had it restored in 1985. De Hoop was made ready for grinding in 1995. The mill is equipped with two grinding couples, but has not been grinding for several years in 2014, although the mill is operated very regularly.More information at erfgoedstichtingdenhout.nl/de-molen-de-hoop
