This stretch between Molló, Espinavell, Coll Pregon, and La Presta, was part of the Republican exodus in February 1939 during the Retirada. As Francoist forces occupied Catalonia, thousands of people crossed the Pyrenees into France in extreme conditions, such as cold and snow, to flee Francoism.
