A Finnish speciality is the washing of carpets in the summer. In many places, like here in Uotsola, you can find special carpet washing places - large tubs mounted on sturdy frames with a water connection in the open air. Here people can traditionally scrub and rinse their carpets with MÄNTYSUOPA, a liquid pine soap. The dripping wet carpets are then hung on stands provided for this purpose to dry.
