The Schönberg museum station offers a number of rarities. Old diesel locomotives, a steam locomotive, historic passenger cars, e.g. from the Reichsbahn, and also historic trams from northern Germany.

The association restores and maintains the locomotives, passenger cars and trams on its own.

In the summer months, members of the museum association are on site and also offer personal tours - free of charge, of course.

A historic tram from 1937 runs on the site. The driver explains many details about the railway, its use and the use of trams in northern Germany at the time and also has a few jokes ready - very amusing. The fare is €3.00 per person.

The museum station is definitely worth a visit.

With the museum railway from the Baltic Sea beach to Schönberg

Whether it's a historic railway or a tram: near the Baltic Sea near Kiel, an association collects rail vehicles from past decades and offers excursions through the countryside.

The impressive fleet of the Schönberger Strand museum railways is located just a few hundred meters from the Baltic Sea. Since 1976, the Association of Transport Amateurs and Museum Railways has been collecting, restoring and maintaining historic locomotives and wagons there.

The museum is also an exciting excursion destination because of its collection of trams from times long past. More than 30 vehicles from Kiel, Lübeck, Hamburg, Hanover, Berlin and Munich can be viewed. The oldest running example dates from 1894: a lovingly restored carriage 656 from the Hamburg Street Railway Company. During the main season from May to September, members invite visitors on numerous museum trips, as well as on various special trips
