"Pereto is one of the towns of Piana del Cavaliere; here stood the ancient city of Carseoli. In the area and in the surrounding towns epigraphs produced in the Roman era were found and are still being brought to light. The first to mention this epigraph is Febonio; it was located along the road that led to Carseoli, outside Pereto, near the church of San Pietro. The locals remember it on the country road to Prato Marano, on the right, about 120 meters from the intersection with the provincial road that goes up to the town. The exact location is indicated by a path that winds through the fields, today almost impassable, but until 20 years ago still with the Roman pavement well preserved for small stretches. Found in the ancient magnificent factory, which (according to the ancient tradition of the terracers) was Vespasian's villa and recently an ancient road was discovered nearby, which was probably a branch of the Via Valeria [...]
