Paul Wittmann's cross mill near Brendlorenzen has been generating electricity since 1947. Until 1972 grain was painted. Today, the plant generates electricity for around 30 households. In close cooperation with the biosphere reserve and nature conservation, a remarkable bypass channel was built, which makes it clear that hydropower use and nature conservation do not have to be contradictory.
