The Domaine du Bagnol, which takes its name from the district where it is located, is one of the oldest in the Cassiden country but also one of the very first to be welcomed. The municipal archives of 1430 thus mention “vineyards in the Bagnol district”. And it was in 1867 that the first formal trace of the property of the Marquis de Fesques, called Bagnol, appeared.
The Domaine du Bagnol extends over 23 hectares, in the immediate vicinity of the village center, along the small valley and on the hillsides plunging towards the sea.

🟢 1936: CREATION OF AOC CASSIS
The Bagnol estate is one of the 10 estates of the AOC Cassis appellation, known as one of the oldest in the Cassiden country.

🍷 1997: TAKEOVER OF THE ESTATE BY JEAN-LOUIS GENOVESI
The modern history of Domaine de Bagnol began in 1997 when Jean-Louis Genovesi became the master of the place. Thirsty for love for the town of Cassis, Jean-Louis set about improving the quality of the wine by modernizing the infrastructure but also the image of the Domaine by bringing it freshness and lightness.

    👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 2003: THE NEW GENERATION
In 2003, after specialized studies, Sébastien Genovesi took over from his father. Gradually, he instilled his determination to preserve the authentic character of Bagnol, whether in terms of the terroir or the vinification of the wines, particularly the whites.
In 2017, after a career in institutional communications and press relations, his sister Lisa became involved in the development of Bagnol, gradually rising to the rank of a must-have in the appellation.

🌱 2014: FIRST CERTIFIED ORGANIC CUVÉE
The Domaine's motto is to work in the most natural way possible. If the first vintage labeled “organic farming” saw the light of day in 2014, the conversion began three years earlier. It is out of conviction and not obligation that the Bagnol team strives to preserve as much as possible the biological balance of nature, which we find in their wines of rare elegance and full of know-how. The new generation of winegrowers is leading us towards natural and authentic agriculture where humans take precedence over technical means.
