Departing from La Cure, the Noirmont family hike route crosses a solitary, lush green meadow and a landscape dominated by gigantic fir trees. Located at the edge of the border with France, the summit of this “black mountain” of the Vaudois Jura reveals a panorama of great beauty.


Noirmont has two peaks on its own. The “Noirmont des Français” offers a beautiful view of the heights of the neighboring Jura and of the Lac des Rousses, located not far away. Twenty meters higher is the real summit of Noirmont, from where the panorama is breathtaking, with Lake Geneva and the Alps as stars.

Magnificent hike. Doable in winter (snowshoes if powder, or even hiking shoes with crampons if the snow is hard)
