After the abolition of patrimonial rule, Nassengrub became part of the municipality of Wernersreuth in the judicial district of Asch or the Asch district in 1850. On March 22, 1874, Nassengrub separated and became its own municipality. The municipality then benefited from the industrial boom of the city of Asch and became a suburb of Asch.
