A surreal landscape with several satellite dishes and a chapel in the middle. On this section of the Ammer-Amper cycle path you also have a great view of the Alps and the Hoher Peißenberg.
The Raisting radome is the last remaining large antenna system from the early days of communication using satellites. People and continents have been connected here since the 1960s and history has been made here. The Raisting earth station broadcast live television images of the first moon landing in 1969 and the 1972 Olympics in Munich into living rooms all over the world.
