The Gamp cement kiln plant is a listed former industrial plant in Gamp, a district of the Tennengau town of Hallein.
    History
In 1848, large marl deposits were discovered in Gartenau on the border with the market town of Grödig, which form the basis for the production of cement (today used by the Leube cement works). Friedrich Volderauer started mining marl in Gamp near Hallein in 1859.
This stone-walled shaft kiln plant was built in 1890 by Max Thury, general director of Perlmoser Aktiengesellschaft, as a production branch. The raw material comes from the Schrambach layers above the factory facilities. Operations ceased in 1926. In 2003, this early industrial monument was comprehensively secured and restored.

The cement kiln plant in Gamp near Hallein was built in 1890 by Max Thury, then General Director of Perlmoser AG, as a stone-built shaft kiln for cement production. The raw material required for production came from the nearby Schrambach strata. The plant was in operation until 1926 and was then shut down. In 2003, it underwent extensive restoration and protection to prevent further deterioration.

Today, the building is a listed monument (Object ID 29658) and is the only immovable monument registered in the Hallein-Gamp cadastral municipality. The cement kiln plant is considered an important testament to the region's industrial history and, as a technical monument, attracts visitors interested in industrial architecture and cement production.
