The light art works can be seen from June 15 to October 6, 2024. The installations shine every evening from 7 p.m. to midnight.

The artwork addresses the changes in the world's oceans as a habitat. While some creatures are displaced due to climate change, other species are multiplying explosively. Jellyfish benefit from the warming of the oceans, with overfishing further reducing their natural enemies. In the artistic work West auf Nordwest, the jellyfish were made from rejects from the plastics industry. They occupy the space above the Oker and begin to glow through the use of black light. Alma Barwitzki, who studies at the Institute for Architecture-Related Art (IAK), developed her design together with the artists Sina Heffner and Bernd Schulz, both teachers at the IAK.
