The station building, designed in 1886 by architect Hubert Stier, was redesigned by Friedensreich Hundertwasser for the EXPO 2000 World Exhibition. If you would like to learn more about the station's history and the themes of the EXPO project, please visit the ART SPACE at the north end of the building. There you can learn about the life and work of Friedensreich Hundertwasser. We will be showing photos of the renovation in Uelzen and a selection of other architectural projects by the artist. The art space also features the original model of the Hundertwasser Environmental Station. Admission to the ART SPACE is free.(hundertwasserbahnhof.de/)

Hundertwasser architecture is something special! If you're waiting for a train, there's something to look at here.

Unbelievable, this is how beautiful a train station can be! The train station and its design alone are worth the trip to Uelzen.
