The Gutsbrack is a deep scouring area caused by a dike breach during a storm surge.
June 29, 2024
The Gutsbrack was formerly known as the "Prophetenbrack" or "Weatherman" because its water turned yellow when a storm was approaching. This phenomenon has not been observed since the northern edge of the brack was reshaped following the storm surge of 1962.
