The Batavia was a Dutch transom return ship of the VOC from the 17th century. The wreckage is currently in a museum in Fremantle, Australia. The Batavia was built between 1627 and 1628 on the Peperwerf in Amsterdam. A reconstruction was built in the years 1985-1995 and can be viewed at the Bataviawerf in Lelystad.
