From the Paschenburg in a southerly direction you can see over the Upper Weser Valley to the Lippe Mountains. If the visibility is good, you can see the Hermannsdenkmal above Detmold and the Brocken in a south-easterly direction.
In itself, the Paschenburg is not a castle, it never was. It was built in 1842 as a small hunting lodge. The small observation tower was built in 1827. Today there is a great panorama restaurant here.
