St Peter's was the original settlement and had a proud history long before Broadstairs grew up next door and became the larger town. St Peter's came within the jurisdiction of the Cinque Ports under a 15th century charter and contributed handsomely for the privilege.

Gravel riding

St Peter's Path runs between St Peter's-in-Thanet and St John's in Margate. It's a smooth undulating single-track, running alongside farmers' fields, over the railway, past Draper's Windmill, and on into Margate. Keep an eye out for runners, walkers, and dog owners, so everyone can enjoy the route together!
