The habitat and breeding site of the only native species of turtle, covered here, as in the nearby Poleski National Park, by the breeding site protection program.

Thanks to this, the Polesie pond turtle population is not decreasing, and in the Sobibór Forests it has been the largest in the country for years - about 500 adult turtles.
