This heavy boulder was one of the attractions of the Kaapse Bossen in the thirties. The colossus symbolizes the Ice Ages, when the shifting ice mass left behind many boulders from Scandinavia. And if you look closely at the base of the stone, you can discover letters. The text reads: The Doornsche Kei. Around 1900 people had more free time and tourism started, such as a trip to the Kaapse Bossen. The owners of the estate built several attractions in the forest. In addition to this boulder, two viewing towers and a stone table also provided entertainment for the visitor. You had to pay an entrance fee to see all that beauty.
