    There is a diversion onto a lower footpath and then back up to the Tramroad further on. On a bike, it's probably better to follow this diversion (it's a rideable but tricky descent) until the path turns left to go back uphill. At this point, turn right instead of following the diversion, to go down another short section of footpath onto a forestry road. Turn left onto this forestry road and it is a steady climb that eventually rejoins the Tramroad ready for the descent to Talybont-on-Usk,

      Brynoer tramroad closure due to landslips, original route probably best avoided. The diversion takes you down into the valley and back up a forestry road to link back up with the Brynoer tramroad
