St. Kancijan Church in Kranj
The church was built in the early 15th century and has been the most distinctive building in Kranj ever since. It is one of the most important monuments of Gothic architecture in Slovenia and a model for the later churches built in Radovljica, Škofja Loka, Kamnik and Šentrupert in the Dolenjska region. There was a long history of sacral buildings on the site of this church, dating back to the pre-Slavic period.
The bell tower is open to the public and offers a view of all three mountain ranges of the Slovenian Alps and all four cardinal directions.
