The Kühlungsborn pier was officially opened on October 3, 1991 in the presence of over 3,000 people. It is the first pier in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to be completed after reunification. With a length of 240 meters, the entire sea side of Kühlungsborn and the surrounding area can be seen and is therefore one of the most popular sights in the Baltic Sea resort.
