The Staudacher Alm is located in a basin on the north side of the Hochgern. Depending on the snow conditions, the Alm is open from May to October. Drinks, typical alpine snacks and homemade cakes await hungry hikers. The quickest way to get to the Staudacher Alm is from Staudach. The climb from the Mühlwinkl district takes about 1 ½ hours. The summit of the Hochgern, which can be described as one of the most beautiful panoramic mountains in the Chiemgau, can be reached from the Alm in another two hours. Another attraction near the Alm is the Schnappenkirche, which was built between 1637 and 1639 and is located on the Schnappenberg high above the Chiemgau. The Schnappenkirche can be reached from the Staudacher Alm in 30 minutes. From the hiking car park in Marquartstein, the Staudacher Alm can be reached via the Schnappenkirche within 2 hours. If you want to do a tour of the Hochgern and the Hochgernhaus, it is best to start in Marquartstein.
