The building in which Restaurant De Zeven Wouden is located has a rich history. Inn De Zevenwolden opened its doors around 1695.
Over the years, the inn has not had many names other than “De Zeven Wouden”, with the exception of variants such as “Zevenwouden” or “Sevenwolden”, which refers to the former division into the Kwartieren van Friesland (1579 – 1795): Oostergo, Westergo, the district of the Seven Forests and a city district, consisting of the eleven cities.
