The Turtle Island (Marathonisi) is an uninhabited island in the National Marine Park of Zakynthos. It is located about two kilometers off the coast in the Bay of Laganas.

The island owes its nickname to two special features:

1. Viewed from a distance or from the air, the island's silhouette resembles a swimming turtle.

2. The sandy beach of Marathonisi is an important nesting site for the endangered loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta).
