The Lime Tree Riviera is also a forest of remembrance, to remember the victims of the wars of the 20th century. Here, not very widespread among the forms of remembrance, a monument to the "interned" Italian soldiers, captured by the Nazis and put to work in the factories, mines, German countryside in place of those men who did not return.
