Porto Cesareo is a comune (southeastern) with 6196 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2016) in the province of Lecce in Puglia. The municipality is located about 25 kilometers west-southwest of Lecce in Salento on the Gulf of Taranto. Porto Cesareo is immediately adjacent to the province of Taranto.
The village already existed in Roman antiquity under the name Portus Sasinae. Numerous preserved towers illustrate the military importance in the Middle Ages.

Beautiful beach. A dive and then off again. Here too there is a fountain from the Apulian aqueduct to refill the water bottles
