The church dates back to the 18th century. In the years 1874-1919 it served as an Orthodox church.
In the historic bell tower from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the book collection of the Teachers' Seminary from Leśna Podlaska was kept in the years 1940-1944 in order to avoid destruction by the German occupier.
