Wörschweiler Monastery (Verneri-Villerium) is a former abbey of the Cistercian monks in Saarland. The monastery was in what is now the Wörschweiler district of the Saarland city of Homburg in the forest on a 315 m high ridge above the town. The name Werschweiler is also used in older literature.

It can be reached from Wörschweiler via a steep, winding path. Very exciting. And when the ruins of the monastery suddenly become visible above, it is very impressive and beautiful

When the weather was dry, I had a bit of trouble getting up the steep path. I definitely wouldn't recommend this trail if it's wet.
