dorf is one of the last remaining watchtowers of the GDR in the former Berlin border section. It was built in 1987 as a command post for the 38th "Clara Zetkin" border regiment for 18 other border towers. After reunification, it was preserved as a "contemporary witness" and has been open to the public since November 1999.
