The water wheel of the municipality of Chamerau
The municipality of Chamerau built a water wheel with a control room in 2006 during the renovation work on the weir. It serves to increase the local recreational value (attraction for tourists) and also generates electricity for the public power grid. The water wheel is accessible via the municipal park.

While with the old weir all canoeists had to get out above the weir for safety reasons and carry their canoe through the center of Chamerau, the new boat slide allows the Chamerau weir to be crossed safely.
