    There has always been very little space available on the castle hill. In the Middle Ages, the margrave, burgrave, and bishop/bishopric shared the domains and properties. The small cloister occupies the narrow space in the angle between the cathedral choir and the All Saints Chapel. Today, it is primarily a landscaped courtyard that provides access to the cathedral.
