The northeast gate of the Nafpaktos Castle is also known in historical documents and specialized literature as „Faltsoporti". It represents a strategically extremely important access point on the eastern flank of the upper sections of the fortress.
The gate is located in the upper area of the fortress structure (zones 1 to 3). It is protected by a massive, well-preserved Venetian bastion, which was intended to make it massively more difficult for potential attackers to penetrate from the mountain side.
