Church from the early 14th century

The church rises northwest of Bundesstraße 14, in the middle of the village of Buchschwabach. It is likely to be significantly older than first mentioned in the Nuremberg Council records in 1450. The place Buchschwabach is mentioned for the first time in the Schwabach market description of the Regensburg monastery St. Emmeram, which was created between 792 and 816.
Three building phases can be seen on the church, the choir of the tower, probably dating from the 13th century, being the oldest component. Further construction work was carried out in the middle of the 15th century on the tower and in 1882/83 on the nave, choir and sacristy. The cross-rib vaulted choir joins a long house covered with a trapezoidal barrel.
The square tower has two floors. Finally, a high tent roof by Johann David Steingruber (1765) crowns the bell floor, the wall surfaces of which are accented with corner pilaster strips.
