The Markhof I estate is an agricultural estate known for its asparagus beyond the borders of the Marchfeld region. Converted to organic farming in 1990 and was the largest organic farm in Austria at the time. The estate now has 110 hectares of arable land and 35 hectares of forest. It has been run as a family business since 1966.
