    Hiking

King Alfonso 13 opened the Conde del Guadalhorce dam in 1921 and crossed the bridge. Hence the name "Caminito del Rey"

    Hiking

Located on the Tajo de las Palomas, it is a notable architectural feature along the "Caminito del Rey". This bridge was built by order of King Alfonso XIII of Spain and served as a connection between the two banks of the so-called 'Pigeon Gorge'. As there were no paved roads at the time, the bridge allowed the king and his companions to cross the Guadalhorce River safely and admire the stunning scenery. The bridge was also used by the blacksmiths to install the original footbridge.

    Hiking

The Caminito del Rey had a reputation as the most dangerous hiking trail in Europe. After its restoration, it is now one of the top attractions in Andalusia.
