It's a cemetery chapel that could charitably be described as "functional."

The Resurrection Chapel in Schwarzenbek stands surrounded by rhododendron bushes in the middle of the New Cemetery. The functionally furnished interior is used by the congregation primarily for funeral services. It's manageable, but it could be better.

That's about to change, too, because it has been sold and is scheduled to undergo extensive renovation and redesign starting in spring 2019.

It's supposed to be really good—we're excited to see what happens.

Yes, some things have changed since then. The entrance area has been redesigned, among other things, and the chapel has been restored. Now everything is a bit more presentable.
