Where the Poppendijke and the Binnenbanddijk meet, cyclists are treated to a special structure. With the tower of the Brabantse Delta water board press station in the background, you can see up close a tower with glued-on buckets.
The tower with 162 glued-on zinc buckets is a work of art by Auke van der Heide and Jan Wessendorp from Bergen op Zoom. 'The bucket of yesteryear is the tube of today'
It is not without reason that the artwork is placed next to the press stations of the Brabant Delta. While today two large pumps are capable of pumping away 18 million liters of wastewater, old-fashioned poop buckets were used in the past. The artwork with the shiny buckets reflects on the transition from the poop bucket to the sewer pipe.
