The Orthodox Church in Vileika was built of brick in the style of Byzantine (Old Russian) architecture in 1865. at the expense of the Russian nobleman, chamberlain and state councilor Apollo Redkin with the support of the notorious Vilna Governor-General Muravyov, according to the project of the Russian engineer Alexei Polozov. The icons for the iconostasis were painted by the Russian artist Mikhail Vasiliev, whose works can also be found in Moscow (Cathedral of Christ the Savior), Zhitomir, Sevastopol, Riga and even Paris. An interesting feature of the church is the tower clock, which is not typical of Orthodox architecture. The parishioners themselves raised the necessary funds for them.
