Hiking

The Veluwe, together with Denmark and England, has a remarkably high concentration of burial mounds. As far as we now know, there are about two thousand of these burial mounds in the Veluwe. Part of this is protected (archaeological monument). Of these "barrows" (burial mounds are known under the name "barrows" in almost all of Europe), five hundred are in areas managed by the Forestry Commission, and with the exception of a few dozen, they are all in the forest.
