The current church was built in the second half of the 13th century or at the beginning of the 14th century. Nothing is known about the previous building, which already existed in 1192. In 1672 a half-timbered roof tower was built. Over the years, further changes were made to the church, for example in 1795, 1832, 1844 and 1863/1864. In 1873 it essentially received its current appearance.
